Summary

CHENEGA TRI-SERVICES, LLC

Reston, VA

 

The Master Electrician will coordinate the use of labor, material, equipment, and tools to obtain optimum life cycles and productivity for electrical and electronic system maintenance.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinates installation, erection, and repair of wires, conduits, etc. for the transmission of electric current for lights, heat, and power, as well as for the installation of electrical machinery, apparatus, devices, and fixtures.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, as well as a wide variety of electrical fixtures.
  • Inspects, maintains, cleans, repairs, tests, and adjusts a variety of electrical equipment, circuitry, and fixtures.
  • Electrical equipment that will require maintenance and repairs includes electrical buzzer and bell circuits, lighting circuits, light fixtures, air movement fans, switches, heating and air-conditioning equipment and machinery, master clocks, rheostats, thermostats, and electrical drills, grinders, and other related electrical shop equipment.
  • Test circuits and equipment by use of voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
  • Electrical circuits include voltage up to 600 volts, 3-phase current.
  • Measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles, and installs conduits, inserts, splicing and connecting wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles, and power source.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Possess a Master Electrical License from DC, Maryland or Virginia
  • Minimum four (4) year’s experience in facilities maintenance 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances needed for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits, related fixtures, and hardware;
  • Ability to follow maintenance instructions, schedules and inspection of work orders and other job assignments
  • Ability to perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions, and complete repairs when required
  • Knowledge of the composition, operation, and installation of a variety of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls
  • Knowledgeable of national and local electrical codes and be able to plan, lay out and complete the installation, modification and repair of various electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls
  • Ability to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings; and must be skilled in the use of a wide variety of test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
