Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist with specific projects, supplementing capabilities, and performing system planning, analysis, and management as needed on the installed operational platforms managed by ESS.
  • Provision IP addresses and configure DNS host files.
  • Provide expertise in network design and planning.
  • Actively engage in United States Secret Service (USSS) status meetings to provide updates and gather requirements.
  • Register for and allocate subscriptions from Red Hat Satellite services.
  • Maintain Red Hat Satellite at current vendor-supported release levels.
  • Ensure Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers are updated to current vendor-supported release levels.
  • Support the patching of Linux systems through scripting (Ansible) or manual execution (yum).
  • Perform OS installation and configure environmental variables for Linux systems.
  • Convert pseudo-code specifications into tested and functioning Ansible Playbooks to automate various DEVOPS processes.
  • Develop, debug, and deploy automated implementations of STIG settings using Ansible Playbooks.
  • Set and distribute authentication and authorization rights within Identity Manager for targeted hosts, groups, and users.
  • Work with automated and semi-automated software distribution, OS maintenance, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on hosted servers and containers, both on-premises and in the cloud, using Red Hat Satellite, Capsule, and Microsoft Azure products.
  • Patch Linux systems using yum CLI, scripting, Ansible Playbooks (YAML), and Satellite toolsets.
  • Connect key information from customer trouble ticketing tools with environment management tools such as Ansible AAP, PostgreSQL database, or Red Hat Satellite.
  • Capture key features and deliverables from verbal instructions to develop written specifications.
  • Convert specifications into pseudo code, which is then translated into programming languages such as Ansible Playbooks and Python, as well as toolset instructions (e.g., SQL).
  • Utilize version control tools such as Git and GitHub from USSS-approved sources.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Red Hat Linux System administration experience.
  • Current certification as a Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA).  

Estimated Salary/Wage

USD $125,000.00/Yr. Up to USD $145,000.00/Yr.
